Sharing his knowledge and passion for preservation

Daniel spent two semesters cataloguing the diversity of life in the Nature Area.

Daniel Lowe began his EAST journey in the Environmental Science class of Fall 2005.  Dan and his team of four were one of the first EAST/EMPACTS student teams.  I watched Dan develop into a natural leader and a young man with a passion for learning and the biological sciences.  I also watched him find a new passion for environmental science and for teaching others.  He became passionate about the nature area EAST/EMPACTS project and has worked since Fall 2005 on various individual and team projects in that area.  Dan served on the EAST/EMPACTS convention team and represented the college and the EAST/EMPACTS program at the national convention in Hot Springs.  He has served as a peer instructor since 2006 in Physical Science, Physical Geology, Plant Biology and Environmental Geology, and as an EMPACTS Tech Corp student.  Daniel Lowe is not just a wonderful young man; he is also a tremendous student and peer mentor.  Congratulations Dan!
